Enjoying Batam

To enjoy the Depavali holiday, I went to Batam island Indonesia. Finally, home sweet home hahahha.. ok, Batam is not my home town, but at least Batam is in Indonesia, a part of Indonesia. Since 7 months I have never go back to my country, Indonesia. So I was very exciting to spend my 3 days holidays in Batam.

Here are some points that I’ve got from my trip to Batam:

• Start from Harbour Front to Batam Centre by ferry. We can choose many kind of ferry like: Batam Fast, Penguin and others.
• Ticket price is around: 18 + 21 + 7 = 46 SGD for return.
• Suggestion: it will better if you check in the ferry 1 day before.

I started my trip to Batam with Ratna and Awi on Saturday at 10:00 pm Singapore time. Because we already have a ticket for our self, so we just need to check in, in Batam fast counter in Harbour Front. The ferry was leaving Singapore at 11:00 pm and arrived at Batam Centre harbour around 11:30 pm Batam time. FYI, Singapore and Batam has 1 hour different time. So actually it takes about 1 hour and 30 min from Singapore to Batam.

Ok, one of my purpose of this trip is to enjoy the Indonesian food. So after reached Batam, I did not want to lose my time. My friends lead me to “tempat makan mie ayam” to enjoy “mie ayam”. It’s one of my fav food when I was in Indonesia. Well, I like this “mie ayam” coz the taste is really like Indonesian “mie ayam” hehehe…

We went to the hotel in “”. The hotel name is “Ozon”. Ok, let me tell you, this is not a star hotel, only a nice and cheap place to spend sleep. So do not imagine about swimming pool or anything else coz they only give you breakfast. For me this hotel is recommended, coz the room facilities is ok with teh cheap price, and also located in the city, it’s near from the market and also mall. So for the new visitor like me, I was very convinience to stay here. Thanks to Tika who gives me the information about this hotel.

• Price: Rp 150.000 (weekdays), Rp 180.000 (weekends) –> it’s for about 25 – 30 SGD

We went to BSC (Batam City Square) Mall that located only about 200 m from the hotel. Activities: shopping, enjoy ice cream, saloon

• Hair cut and cream bath: Rp 85.000 (about 12 SGD)
